As a board-certified internist and palliative medicine/hospice physician, Dr. Clarkinson has cared for many patients who have been diagnosed with cancer. She has seen firsthand the medical, psychosocial, financial, and spiritual difficulties patients face when diagnosed with serious illness. One of the greatest honors of her career has been to listen intently to her patients and advocate for their goals and needs, and the needs of their families. Her beliefs are to support and empower patients with the knowledge, and confidence to advocate for best medical care, whatever this means to them. She feels her experience can benefit CSC Southwest Colorado by offering insight into the complexities of the healthcare system, spread awareness of the organization’s programs and services, and advocate for the people it serves.
