Toni has over 25 years of health care and oncology experience. Before transitioning into program development for Blueprints of Hope, which is now Cancer Support Community Southwest Colorado, she worked as a clinical nurse in the fields of medical and radiation oncology. Through her work in this capacity she, as many oncology nurses do, worked ardently to break down barriers to care, locate resources, and share tools that help patients use their power to improve their health and well-being. She attended George Washington Cancer Institute’s inaugural Navigation and Survivorship program in Washington, D.C., and the Colorado Patient Navigation program at Anschutz Medical Center. She is credentialed as an Oncology Nurse Navigator-Certified Generalist by the Academy of Nurse and Patient Navigators, is an Oncology Certified Nurse through the Oncology Nursing Society, a Board-Certified Registered Nurse through the Colorado State Board of Nursing, and a graduate of the Fort Lewis College non-profit certification course. She is passionate about quality cancer survivorship care, and about helping to make lives better for all those who are experiencing any season of cancer.
